Born and raised in Mexico City, Diana Escobedo Lastiri is a fashion, street, and underwater photographer. Her vision comes from a life filled with love and international experiences. For two years she lived in India, a country whose infinite diversity spoiled her senses, challenged them, and changed them irreversibly. Eager to communicate what she saw, Diana started photographing. Since then, she has pursued her passion for photography, dance, film, gender studies, literature, and philosophy. She has been recipient of multiple awards and honors, and has lived in the United Kingdom, where she completed her work experience with photographer Steve Double; France, where she specialized in photography while studying at Parsons Paris; and Argentina, where she completed a photography residency that explored gender and religion. Diana recently self-published her first book, “Entre Comadres,” a collection of women’s and muxe’s stories, and her photography from Juchitan de Zaragoza, Mexico. She is now eager to continue using narrative in both writing and photography to challenge gender inequalities in local and global contexts. Diana graduated from College of the Atlantic, U.S.A., with a BA in Human Ecology. Currently, she is living in Grand Cayman and Mexico City while she focuses her lens under water. diana escobedolastiri
